Hi, I'm Amy Faulkner and am a first year at Fitzwilliam College Cambridge studying French and Spanish. Having recently been through the process of admissions here at Cambridge I have plenty of advice and useful tips to impart to those hoping to apply as I know the admissions process can be daunting. Having had some interview practice myself prior to my Cambridge interview I know what worked to help me prepare and would love to ensure that everyone has similar help and guidance before their interviews. Also it is a great idea to prepare for your course before coming here which I am keen to help anyone with. Furthermore, having taken my A levels in 2014, I can provide help with these examinations in French and Spanish with my particular passion being literature. I took the AQA exam board in both these subjects but also have a good knowledge of both the Edexcel and OCR curriculums.
I can provide useful and up to date knowledge on the admissions process here at Cambridge and will do all I can to ensure that a promising candidate has as much as possible at their disposal about what actually goes on at interview. It really helped me to have some practice beforehand so we can look at texts and questions that might be asked based on your interests and personal statement. I have a passion for literature and would love to guide students in their A levels in both French and Spanish and beyond with regard to how I tackle difficult texts and giving an insight and introduction into how you might best approach texts here at Cambridge where independent study is essential but also tricky!
At my sixth form college I was a prefect and have thus had experience in some classroom based assistance. Beyond this I can guarantee my complete dedication and passion to languages and to your learning.
I love to dance and write!
