Hi! I am a fifth year medic studying at Cambridge and I am eager to help you with any questions that you may have! I achieved 11.5A*s at GCSE, 5As at AS Level and 4A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Geography and Maths at A Level.
Applying to Med School is often, understandably for many, a confusing and tricky time - involving jumping through countless hoops with plenty of uncertainty as to whether you are doing the ‘right’ thing. This is where I can help; I have been through this process and I have helped many others with their applications. Each tutoring session will be tailored to the needs of the individual, be it interview preparation, personal statement writing or just general advice regarding the application process. Whenever I meet a new student, I always ask what YOU would like to gain from these sessions, e.g. to improve your interview skills; and also at the start and end of each session, I will detail exactly what the aim is of the current and future sessions. In my sessions, I make sure the student asks if their is anything (however small) they are unsure about, as there are no silly questions as far as I'm concerned - as long as you gain knowledge/understanding from a question, it's a question worth asking!
For four years, I have lead an “Application to Medical School” day at a local sixth form, where l give advice on the BMAT/UKCAT admissions tests, personal statement writing, what medical school is really like and interview advice. I have also volunteered as a teaching assistant at a local school and in the past, I have taught the flute.
I am the Vice-President of Cambridge University Wilderness Medicine Society! This involves plenty of fun outdoorsy walks, interspersed with a few simulations!
