Lynn P.
I recently graduated from Queens' College, Cambridge where I read law. I'm currently completing my Bar Professional Training Course in London to become a barrister. I was born and raised in Malaysia where I was educated in the national system (SPM). I moved to Cardiff, UK when I was 18 to begin my A-levels. I was accepted into Queens' in Cambridge and began studying law in 2015. I was interviewed by two interviewers, and passed the Cambridge Admissions Test. I achieved a 32/42 in my LNAT and 64/80 in the BCAT.
I generally approach tutoring in a friendly manner and take a very critical approach to personal statements and interviews. I prefer to prepare the student for both the likely scenario and the worse case scenario so they can go into it with their eyes wide open. I tailor my approach to the individual students and recognise that every individual is different and am aware that they may be younger and more impressionable. I enjoy chatting and getting to know the student better as it helps me to advise them more effectively especially with regard to Personal statements.
I have been involved in: - Cambridge Malaysia Society, Outreach Keynote Speaker for UCAS Applications/Interviews across the nation - Mock interviews for Malaysian applicants + advice - Personal statement help - General Interview advice - Student Ambassador for City University, BPTC (Open Day Q&As) - VP Law Society in A-levels helping the year below with applying to study Law.
I have occasionally written for The Student Lawyer in the past year, and was wrote articles for The Cambridge Student while I was there. I am also really interested in Drama and acting generally. As with most Law students I also enjoy reading, though I prefer reading fiction when I'm off the clock (i.e. not studying).
