I was born in Birmingham in central England, and was hugely passionate about the natural world during my youth. This led me to complete A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics before gaining a place at Oxford to study Biological Sciences!
I do my best to adopt the approach my tutors and professors at Oxford used in their teaching; encouraging students to come up with theories and ideas themselves rather than simply lecturing to them. This has proved very effective in my teaching career so far, particularly in helping students to engage with subject material rather than being turned off by it.
4 years of experience in South Korea (in Gangnam, Seoul and Global Education City, Jeju Island) teaching biology and chemistry for GCSE, A Level, IB and MYP and Pre-U. During this period, I also routinely assisted students with UCAS and university applications as well as conducting mock interviews and additional biology classes for students applying to Oxford and Cambridge.
I am a keen traveller, and particularly enjoy seeing the wilder side of the destinations I visit. In a similar vein, I get a huge amount of pleasure from SCUBA diving, and always endeavour to get a few dives in wherever I happen to find myself travelling.
