I grew up in Melbourne, but was lucky enough to receive an offer to study undergraduate Psychology, Philosophy, and Linguistics (PPL) at Oxford. I focused on philosophy, but also took a number of linguistics subjects, and a compulsory statistics course in first year. I graduated in 2018 with a 2:1. I moved back to Australia when I finished, but have recently returned to the UK to work and hopefully continue studying philosophy. I can advise you in the Oxbridge admissions process and the interviews (for PPL), as well as in philosophy and linguistics.
I focus on encouraging students to see ideas and concepts in their appropriate contexts; to see, in other words, the 'bigger picture'. This involves developing strong foundations, broaching historical considerations, and simply explaining things as clearly as possible. I also emphasise the importance of writing skills.
Worked on 10 Oxbridge Programmes – Oxford experience trips for high-school aged Japanese students. Tutored a student in A-level philosophy (AQA board).
I play jazz guitar, and am currently learning piano. I also have a keen interest in literature, particularly modern poetry – my favourite writer is John Ashbery.
