Hello! I am a 2nd year medical student at the University of Cambridge. Thank you for clicking on my profile. Prior to university, I studied at Norwich High School for Girls, where I achieved 10*s at GCSE. Having achieved A*A*A*A*A at A Level in Biology, Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and EPQ (in which I wrote a dissertation on Alzheimer's Disease), I left school with multiple prizes under my belt. However, this required hard work and determination and having undergone private tutoring myself, I have first-hand knowledge of effective techniques. Ultimately, I aim to use my enthusiasm for maths and the sciences to simplify the learning process for my students.
I believe that effective learning blossoms out of the tutor working WITH the student towards a set of goals that seem distant at the start of the learning process. Each individual student progresses at his/her own pace. I try to put myself in a student's shoes and remember how it felt when I was struggling to understand a topic. I will strive to ensure that either you, your daughter or son leaves the session having mastered not only the facts behind a particular topic they were struggling with previously, but also the thought processes and the foundations behind it. I believe that a strong understanding of basic topics is all that is needed to excel in the subject concerned, and ultimately the exam system. If you're looking for a tutor who really cares about the success of their students, then please do get in contact. It would be a pleasure for me to help you.
I have tutored maths and the sciences at GCSE and A-Level for the past 3 years, and have found that my patient yet encouraging approach has not only improved the academic performance of my tutees, but also boosted their confidence in their own abilities. I am happy to tutor Biology, Chemistry and Maths up to A-level standard. Having been through the exam process myself only recently, I am very familiar with the style of learning required to conquer these exams! In addition, I have helped multiple students with their personal statements, BMAT, UKCAT and interview preparation (including Oxbridge interview prep) for Medicine. I realise that the application process can be tedious and daunting, however I am confident that I can help you make it a more enjoyable experience, as I certainly found it was.
