Cambridge
I am a Romanian studying Mathematics at Cambridge. I was a national and international medalist in math Olympiads. Math comes at hand in a variety of fields and I had the opportunity to find the beauty of it since I was young. I am an open minded person with a lot of patience. I like to think of myself as a slow but thorough learner. Sometimes more is less and quality comes over quantity. I believe in doing things at your own pace so that the information is assimilated more naturally.
My tutoring approach varies depending on what the student feels is best for them. As I said, learning how to learn is a very important aspect so if you feel like adjustment needs to be made, I strongly encourage you to tell me. Nevertheless, I think the Cambridge supervision system is the base for it. That is, the student is advised to tell me what he/she wants to discuss one or two days ahead so I can better prepare. I will provide a lot of examples to illustrate principles and I believe in throwing some extra (more difficult) problems to further “turn on” your mind.
I am a very active person who likes all kinds of sports especially snowboarding, soccer, volleyball, swimming and pool. Also, one of my “secret” hobbies that helps me relax my mind is fishing (fishing carp in particular, if someone is interested in going to catch some hard drills).
