Hey! My name is Jihoon Kang, a graduate from Oxford University in B.Sc and M.Sc Mathematics. I can offer help with Oxbridge mock interviews, MAT exams personal statements, and generally any questions you may have. I took the IB diploma, achieving 7s in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at higher level, with an overall score of 41. However, I have experience teaching A level maths too, having taught C1 to C4, as well as M1. I also achieved 7 A*s at GCSE, so hopefully I could be an effective tutor for you.
My approach varies from candidate to candidate. Some candidates would prefer to discuss in extra detail the topics in question, whilst some candidates would rather focus on exam techniques. In most cases, I adapt to the needs of the candidate to make their experience enjoyable and useful.
1. Tutoring scheme in sixth form, teaching maths to younger students in school (11-16 yr olds)
2. Tutoring fellow IB students HL mathematics informally (over Skype)
3. Volunteering tutoring work In South Korea, teaching a few students from a number of different schools for free (IB and A level maths)
4. A tutor in a tutoring organisation in South Korea, teaching students between the ages of 9 to 18 for 8 weeks. 5. Mock interviews with Gurume
I am a passionate volleyball player; I used to play for the University of Birmingham before coming to Oxford. I also do shooting at the rifle club, acting, playing the piano, and eating lots and lots of food!
