Hello, I have just graduated from University of Oxford with a degree in Jurisprudence (Law). During my time in Oxford, I was on full scholarship: the Ahmet Ertegun Memorial Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Before Oxford, I attended an American school in Oxford where I had to take many APs and SATs, therefore I am very well acquainted with these exams as well as with the challenges we face in applying to universities in the UK from a different educational background.
For Oxbridge admissions, it is often said that no prior knowledge is required. What makes the difference is how comfortable you feel in an interview. This will affect the image that you will give to the tutors. During my own preparation to my Oxford interview, I read a lot about my subject, but most importantly I THOUGHT a lot about what my experiences taught me and why they contributed to my development as a successful law student. You can't change what you have done so far, but you can definitely enhance your presentation skills and come across as a motivated and confident student with a great potential to succeed! I will be talking to you a lot and working on the way you represent your ideas! It is no doubt that knowledge is crucial for success in exams. However, students who tend the do best are the ones who combine knowledge with practical exam techniques. This comes with developing an awareness as to what type of questions come and what do examiners look for! Thus, my tutorials will aim to strike a balance between these two ends.
I have been giving counselling and preparation support for students in their Oxbridge applications and admissions process for the past two years.
Travelling (been to Hong Kong very recently), Yoga (every day!), Piano (I used to be a concert pianist), personal development books, Chinese Philosophy!
