I am an English graduate from Cambridge University, and a professional actor. I have always enjoyed teaching; it is an incredibly rewarding experience for both tutor and tutee, helping to instil a genuine passion and enjoyment for the subject in question. Whilst at Cambridge, I won several awards for my work in English; it is my primary love, followed swiftly by drama/theatre studies. My interest in History spans my entire academic history; in addition to my A-level, I have an additional History AS-level on a different exam board (wherein I achieved full marks). I now teach wherever possible, and love it!
I strongly believe that confidence is the key to academic success. My initial aim with students is to build a strong foundation of confidence and trust; tutees should never fear getting things wrong, or not understanding, as these are vital things that occur in learning! From this, I tailor my approach to different students, to find their preferences and how they learn best. Finally, I conduct my lessons in an enjoyable and exciting way, to try and foster the same genuine passion for the subject as I have in teaching it.
I began tutoring one-to-one acting exams several years ago, helping my students gain confidence and skills to achieve their potential. From this, I started working informally as an entrance exam tutor for university - due to my acting and performance experience, I was particularly able to assist students in interview preparation and personal statements. I love working with students of all ages and backgrounds, helping them to find success.
I am a professional actor and highly qualified singer, so I love performing arts of all variants. I also work as a professional fire eater and body burner; I founded and ran a circus company for several years. Finally, I am an extremely keen cook and chocolatier when I can be!
