Montana J.
I am a fourth year medical student at Imperial College London and I completed my first three years at St Peter's College, Oxford. I achieved 3A* at A level in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, A* in an Extended Project Qualification (medical theme) and 10A* at GCSE, and completed the BMAT and UKCAT in preparation for medical school. I scored full marks in a number of the biology and chemistry papers at both AS and A level (exam board OCR).
I am friendly, flexible and welcome all students of any ability. I am able to provide a structure for lessons, or alternatively to follow guidance from tutees on whatever they wish to focus on. I am happy to provide sample pieces of work, such as essays, sample interview answers or explanations of scientific methods. I can also provide feedback for work completed by students, should they request it. This might include personal statements or answers to exam questions. Tutoring will be informal and enjoyable and I am very receptive to the needs of the individual.
I tutored A/A* and A/B boundary year 11 students in maths for an hour per week whilst in Sixth Form. More recently I ran workshops on personal statements, BMAT practice and Oxford interviews whilst working for UNIQ summer schools. I have also returned to my old school to provide Q&A sessions on both medicine and Oxford applications. Informally I have provided advice and guidance to students applying to medicine and/or Oxford via social media, on the phone and in person.
I do athletics and my main event is triple jump. I competed in the British Championships in 2015 whilst studying for my finals in Oxford. I also took part in college rowing during my first two years. In my spare time I love going to concerts and cooking.
