About BPhO

The British Physics Olympiad (BPhO) Round 1 is one of the UK’s most prestigious physics competitions. Sat in November, it is a two-hour paper in two sections — short-answer questions in Section 1 and longer thematic problems in Section 2 — that applies the full AS and A2 physics syllabus in unfamiliar, problem-solving contexts. Top performers are invited to Round 2 and, ultimately, selection for the UK team at the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO).

  • Master every BPhO Round 1 topic through worked past-paper questions
  • Sit full timed mock exams at genuine Olympiad difficulty on the iBGuru app

Why our BPhO Workshop

Structured curriculum

Past papers organised by question type and concept, then worked through and mastered one by one.

Our own question bank

Beyond past papers, the iBGuru study app provides an original question bank and full mock exams pitched at real Olympiad level.

Specialist tutors, small classes

Small-group classes led by specialist olympiad tutors who understand the competition and its scoring points, and have coached many students to Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Technique teaching

Technique-focused teaching that delivers big breakthroughs in a short space of time.

Curriculum

A 15-session programme covering the full BPhO Round 1 syllabus, from first principles to full timed papers. Every session includes targeted past-paper practice and homework, with mock exams on the iBGuru app.
